Netball Queensland’s Performance Pathways Awards Highlight Suns’ Talent and Achievements

Updated: Oct 10

Queensland Suns Continue to Rise with National Selections

The Queensland Suns Men’s & Mixed Netball Association was proud to be part of the 2025 Netball Queensland Performance Pathways Awards, a night dedicated to recognising the state’s best athletes, coaches, officials, and rising stars.

Representatives from our committee joined players, coaches, and supporters from across the netball community to celebrate the incredible talent shaping the future of the sport in Queensland. It was an evening that highlighted both the established leaders of our game and the next generation of athletes who are already making their mark.

We were thrilled to present our 2025 Queensland Suns honours:

  • Most Valuable Player (MVP): Aaron Clayton

  • Rising Sun Award: Miller Page

  • Men’s M League MVPs (as voted by umpires after every game):

    • Kobe Webster (Moreton Bay Pulse)

    • Jarrad Gaunt (Moreton Bay Pulse)

    • Brock Starkey (Sunshine Coast Thunder)

These athletes embody the passion, skill, and determination that define our association, and we congratulate them on their outstanding achievements both on and off the court.

Queensland Suns President, Darren Gillespie, who attended and presented awards on the night, reflected on the importance of the occasion:

“It was an honour to stand alongside so many of Queensland’s most talented athletes and acknowledge the hard work and dedication that makes our game so special. Our Suns award recipients have set a benchmark for excellence, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved. Nights like these remind us of the bright future of men’s and mixed netball in Queensland.”

The night was not only an opportunity to celebrate but also a reminder of how far men’s and mixed netball has come in Queensland. The Suns remain committed to building opportunities, driving high-performance standards, and showcasing the talent that continues to emerge from our pathways.

We extend our thanks to Netball Queensland for hosting such a fantastic event and congratulate all award nominees and winners across the evening.
