The Queensland Suns Men’s M League Finals Series has kicked off with a thrilling start, setting the stage for an unforgettable conclusion to the 2025 season. As the premier platform for elite men’s netball in South East Queensland, the finals bring together the state’s best athletes in a high-performance competition that doubles as a pathway to national representation.
The opening week of finals delivered action-packed netball and showcased the calibre of talent within the league.
Major Semi-Final: Wildcats 56 def. Thunder 48. The Wildcats booked the first spot in the Grand Final after holding off a spirited Thunder comeback. Despite Thunder closing the gap late, the Wildcats’ composure under pressure secured them the win and a direct path to Nissan Arena on 14 September.
Minor Semi-Final: Pulse 68 def. Bond 39. Pulse produced a dominant performance to keep their finals campaign alive, showcasing resilience and attacking firepower. Their emphatic win earns them a showdown with Thunder in next week’s Preliminary Final for the remaining Grand Final place.
Each game demonstrated the depth and intensity of the competition, reaffirming the M League’s reputation as a cornerstone in the development of men’s and mixed netball in Queensland.
Next up, Thunder will now face Pulse on Sunday 7 September (Father’s Day) in what promises to be an intense battle. Thunder will be hungry to rebound after their narrow semi-final loss, while Pulse will look to carry their momentum into a clash that decides who joins the Wildcats in the 2025 Grand Final.
The Grand Final will take place on Sunday, 14 September at Nissan Arena, alongside the prestigious 2025 HART Sapphire Series Premier Netball League Finals. This combined event cements men’s netball as an integral part of Queensland’s elite netball calendar. Wildcats have already booked their place in the decider, with their opponent to be determined this Sunday. The championship clash will not only crown the 2025 M League champions but also stand as a key milestone in the Suns’ broader vision to elevate men’s and mixed netball across the state.
As anticipation builds for the Preliminary Final and Grand Final, the Queensland Suns encourage fans, families, and netball communities to come along, cheer loudly, and witness the future of elite men’s netball.
