The 2025 season of the Hart Premier Netball League marked a bold new chapter for men’s netball in Queensland with the official launch of the revamped M League - a competition designed to showcase the best of our male and mixed netball talent.
In proud partnership with HNPL, the debut of five foundation clubs led the charge into this exciting new era:
Bond University Bull Sharks
Brisbane South Wildcats
Moreton Bay City Pulse
Redlands Coast Eagles
Sunshine Coast Thunder
These clubs represented a powerful step forward in the growth and visibility of men’s netball, each bringing their own unique strength, community backing, and competitive edge to the league.
The M League launched on June 15 at Nissan Arena and featured two action-packed games. Among the top-tier athletes who will take to the court this season is Queensland Suns Open Men’s representative Jordon Webb, who is lining up for Sunshine Coast Thunder after returning from a successful debut tour with the Australian Kelpies in England. He joins a host of standout players and rising stars who set out to make their mark throughout the season.
The M League is more than just a competition - it stands as a statement of intent from the Queensland Suns. It signals a bright and inclusive future for the sport, providing a platform for elite performance, talent development, and the continued expansion of netball across the state.
Darren Gillespie, the President of QLD Suns, said that, “Following the successful season for M League in 2024, QLD Suns, Netball Queensland and Hart Premier Netball League clubs further strengthen our relationship through the inclusion of the M League foundation clubs. This is the inaugural season for male athletes representing clubs within Queensland’s highest domestic competition. It is a strong, united step forward for mens and boys netball pathways. I am excited to see our QLD Suns athletes and future stars compete and showcase the talent of mens netball.”
Stay tuned for match highlights, player spotlights, and club news throughout the season! The draw is available in netball connect.
The new era has begun.
